⚓ What is Agniveer MR?

Agniveer (MR) = Matric Recruit entry under the Indian Navy Agnipath Scheme.
You get trained as an Agniveer Sailor for 4 years — disciplined, uniformed, and unstoppable. After 4 years, a portion of recruits (about 25%) get a permanent commission based on merit and Navy needs.

🎓 Eligibility

🧍‍♂️ Gender

• Male and Female — both can apply.

📅 Age Limit

• 17½ to 21 years (must be born between specific dates given in the yearly notification).

🎒 Educational Qualification

• Must have passed 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized board.

• That’s it — simple, clean, but you gotta pass the tests.

💪 Physical Standards

• Height:

  • Male: Minimum 157 cm

  • Female: Minimum 152 cm

• Chest: Proportionate with expansion of 5 cm.

• Eyesight: 6/12 (both eyes) correctable to 6/6 with glasses.

• Fitness Test:

  • Male: 1.6 km run in 6 min 30 sec, 20 squats, 10 push-ups

  • Female: 1.6 km run in 8 min, 15 squats, 10 sit-ups

🧾 Exam Pattern

Subjects:

• Science & Math – basics from Class 10 level (Physics, Chemistry, Math).

• General Knowledge – current affairs, sports, defence, history, geography, etc.

Marking: +1 for correct, no negative marking.

📍 Selection Process Summary

1. Online Application

2. Computer-Based Exam

3. Shortlisting for PFT & Medical

4. Final Merit List = Exam score + Physical & Medical results.

🧢 Training

• Training held at INS Chilka (Odisha).

• Duration: 22 weeks (basic naval training).

• After that: Specialized branch training as Chef, Steward, or Hygienist (depending on role assigned).
