1. What is the LIC Agent Recruitment Exam?

The LIC Agent Recruitment Exam is conducted by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to select insurance agents who sell LIC policies and provide after-sales services to customers.

  • This is a sales-oriented role, usually on a commission basis, and agents are considered LIC’s business partners rather than permanent employees.


2. Purpose

  • To recruit qualified and licensed insurance agents as per the IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) norms.

  • Agents act as the primary contact between LIC and policyholders.


3. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 years

  • Maximum: No upper limit (as per IRDAI rules)

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum: 10th pass (Rural areas) / 12th pass (Urban areas)

  • Good communication skills in the local language are essential.


4. Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Interview with LIC Development Officer.

  2. LIC Pre-Recruitment Training (Mandatory as per IRDAI guidelines).

  3. IRDAI Pre-Licensing Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India.

  4. Appointment as LIC Agent upon passing the exam.
